HOW MUCH WILL MY WATER DAMAGE COST?
It’s impossible to determine beforehand. Every water damage varies in size, cause of origin, and length of time before it’s discovered. Also every home has different materials affected. Since every home is different, each home will require different amounts of dry time. Your insurance company understands that there are too many variables involved for any professional to establish a price before any work is done.
Never allow a contractor to promise you a “set price” for water damage. Chances are you will not receive all the services that you may require or may be charged for services you don’t need.
DO YOU GIVE ESTIMATES FOR WATER DAMAGE AND FIRES?
Yes! And we can provide an estimate before any work is started. The thing to remember is that estimates change as water damage spreads. What often happens, is an area that doesn’t appear wet when you first called us, can absorb moisture the following day, through carpeting, sheetrock or undetected damage.
Insurance companies deal with this situation on a daily basis. They expect a “ball park” estimate from us as soon as possible. (Usually within 48 hours) However, they understand that billing cannot be finalized until the structure is completely dry and all risk of mold has been eliminated.
SINCE YOU CAN’T PROVIDE A SPECIFIC COST BEFORE HAND, HOW DO I KNOW YOU’RE NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MY INSURANCE COMPANY?
Our prices are set by a software program called Xactimate. This is the most widely used pricing program by insurance adjusters. What this means to you is that our prices are no surprise to the insurance companies who will be paying the bill. When your insurance adjuster writes up his estimate, he’s using the same pricing guide we use! Therefore, we can guarantee that there is never any price gouging or opportunistic services performed. Every price listed on our bill is the standard price allowed and paid by the insurance industry.
DO YOU WORK FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANIES?
NO! We work for you - the home or business owner. As a restoration/disaster service contractor the majority of our work is PAID BY INSURANCE COMPANIES. However you are the customer. You get to choose who works on your home. Insurance companies can give you the names of restoration companies but they cannot force you to use a particular one. We are the company preferred by most customers and insurance companies because we do good, honest, and thorough work.
DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR WORK?
Yes! Every service we perform has its own specific guarantee. We stand behind our work whether it is water damage, fire clean up, mold remediation, carpet cleaning, or air ducts. No matter what the service, you will be guaranteed that it will be performed correctly according to the latest training and industry standards.
HOW CAN YOU TELL IF THE WALLS ARE DRY?
A better question is “How can you tell if it’s wet?” Drying is easy. Making sure you’ve found all that needs to be dried is the real challenge! To make sure that no portion of your home or business is left wet with the potential of growing mold, we use a variety of moisture detection instruments.
We utilize detectors that sense moisture in wood, sheetrock and concrete. We also use probes that test insulation and hard wood floors. Phoenix Restoration was one of the very first disaster companies in Kansas and Oklahoma City to use infrared cameras for moisture detection!
DOES AIR DUCT CLEANING REALLY WORK?
The proof is in the air! How long have you lived in your home? 2 years? 5, maybe 20 years? An average sized home has enough duct work to equal the square footage of a small bedroom. Imagine if you never dusted or cleaned that room the entire time you’ve lived in your house. That’s pretty much what it looks like deep inside your duct lines!
Our method of drawing air backwards through your duct lines then putting brushes or whips down each line cleans each line thoroughly! Duct cleaning not only improves the quality of the air you breathe but many report that they have less dusting to do because it eliminates so much dust from being circulated!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE CARPET TO DRY AFTER IT’S BEEN CLEANED?
We use truck mounted, steam cleaning units and environmentally safe cleaning solutions to clean your carpets. Using steam to clean means we get tough dirt out of carpet. Using truck mounted extraction gives us the power to suck up most of the steam we spray out so we don’t leave your carpets soaking wet!
An average dry time is 4 to 6 hours, but we can cut that down to 2 or 3 hours if we leave carpet drying fans. Let us know if time is an issue!
